Living in a Winter Survival Shelter
Well, folks, it’s official—I moved into the Winter Shelter on December 1st! The mission? To live in this hand-built shelter through the entirety of winter. No modern comforts, no easy outs—just me, the elements, and a whole lot of determination. Let’s do this!
In this video, I give you a tour of the shelter’s current state. Spoiler: It’s not perfect. I’m still figuring things out as I go, and not all systems are fully dialed in yet. But that’s part of the adventure, right? I’ll walk you through the interior, share my plans for improvements, and explain some of the challenges I’m facing.
You’ll also get a look at the exterior, including the rear wall, which… well, let’s just say it didn’t go exactly as planned. I’ll break down what happened, why I made certain decisions, and what I’ve learned so far.
And because I love hearing from you, I’ll be responding to some of the comments and questions from my last video at the end. Your feedback keeps me motivated, so keep it coming!
This is going to be a wild ride, and I’m glad you’re here to share it with me. Let’s see if I can survive winter in a shelter I built with my own two hands. Spoiler: It’s going to be messy, cold, and absolutely unforgettable.
