Off Grid Log Cabin Build – A little roof framing and apology

Most of 2016 was trying to say the least. As I explain in this video between the stress of trying to get a roof over our heads and a dysfunctional relationship making videos and documenting my cabin build did not go as planned. I know this video is not ideal but it is all I could pull together showing the roofing progress. Time moves on and I am looking forward to a healthier better 2017.

Hey Brother, where to start ?! I didn’t know now you had this site. I was following you on you tube and you vanished man! I was enthralled in the story and then nothing ! I found your site and then saw the roofing / apology video. Brother I’m sorry for your loss on both counts. Life sucks, it really does. Roll with the punches man, dig in and dig deep.

I saw that your were in the legion that’s amazing. I wanted to join so badly (I grew up in Ireland). I just wasn’t tough enough but boy do I respect that. I ended up serving with a guy who was in 2nd Rep. he had some harsh stories of bullying and such. So I take my hat off to you there. He went AWOL in the end. I bought him a Kepi Blanc on E Bay and he cherishes it.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks a lot for the videos. It’s been my dream to own some land and I finally took possession of three acres today. I just finished a log home building course last week too. I’m buying the building that the class made, but I want to build a garage and workshop. So I’m half cheating.

I’d love to see a full video of the cabin interior if you can? I know it’s not perfect in your eyes but we all want to see it. It’s inspiring. Also what work are you doing? You talk of work in town?

Take care and stay safe my friend,

    Maurice.

Thanks for the encouraging message Maurice and for sharing your story. Sounds like you have taken active steps to make your dreams come true… Congrats on acquiring your land! I would not recommend the FFL for any sane happy people, you will be mentally, emotionally and physically abused, I still feel uncomfortable with some memories of that period in my life… life moves on though and we have to be able to roll with the punches and get back in the ring.
I am currently working for a gold exploration company, most of my time is spent backpacking soil samples and scientific equipment up and down mountains. I will be getting a couple update videos out in the next week or so.
All the best to you. Cheers.
